FIRST POST

My name is Mutairu Basirat Oluwatosin. Some people call me Motunrayo. If you know me well enough, you know no one calls me Tosin; never. For the purpose of this blog, you can choose between Basirat or Motunrayo; either is fine by me frankly.

Why did I start a blog?

Honestly I wish I have a polish answer like a number of other millennials of our time,  the truth is I don't. So rather than write this thought process of mine in a journal as I would usually do, I thought, common it couldn't hurt. Start a blog post!

My Background:

I am  a 25 years old female born and bred in Lagos. I am a Lawyer by profession. The irony is even though through my years at the University, I ensured I interned with a number of Law-firms in other to make this period of my life; this transition from been a dependent child to an adult, easy, I find that there is no such thing. I along with what am sure is a bunch of other people have to really think through what to do next.

I also do freelance writing for magazine and fashion outlet. I have been doing this since I was about 20. I have been told I write well, hopefully I have not been deceived throughout my life.

My Philosophy:

I remember as a child when someone would ask the older ones this and they always had a bunch of witty answers to give. These days, it is no longer a very popular question. However, I am going to answer this as honestly as it comes to mind right now.

I believe in living your truth even if living yours is an unpopular one, never let yourself be influenced to be what you are not just to please people that won't give your action more than a minute of deliberation. Even as I write this, I am confident that I have just muddled up the very essence of what it means to describe one's philosophy of life. I hope someday the true essence of it reveals itself so I can describe it  more vivdly. For now, take comfort in knowing I do not live my life by societal dictates, Yes I make my own rules and you should too as soon as you have a minute.

The essence my posts will seek  to address:

This blog for me will be a medium where I can discuss issues that affect me as a young person and the resolves I take to address them. I will also be discussing whether these resolves worked, where they failed and

how I could have been better. I will not pretend to have some midas touch or some insightful solution to the problems of the world, but like many of you I am looking for simple answers in a world where it seems everyone has it figured out, and I am just wondering what the actual **** is wrong with me.

Ps- Sometimes, these posts will be as real as it is pictured in my mind, I apologise to anyone that may take offence at curse words.

It's 2017 so let's get started...
